Travel With a Purpose

We are a group of avid travelers who love exploring new destinations, experiencing different cultures, and learning about the challenges that differ from our own. This 10-day experience blends breathtaking landscapes, rich cultural depth, and meaningful community connection: visiting a local women's argan oil cooperative, sharing lunch with a family preserving generations of carpet-weaving traditions, taking tea with a nomadic family deep in the Sahara, and supporting a desert village school and community initiatives.

What's Included

Accommodations, ground transportation, activities, daily breakfast, some meals, and airport transfers are all included. Total trip cost: $2,125 with a $300 deposit to book. Not included: airfare from the US, optional activities, hammam/spa services, trip insurance, some meals, and tips for guides.

Day 1

Welcome to Marrakech | Rooftops, Riads & the Red City

Arrive in Marrakech and transfer to your traditional riad, your home for the next several nights. After settling in, enjoy a guided introduction to the city's vibrant medina, where colorful souks, winding alleyways, and centuries of history await around every corner. Depending on arrival times, enjoy free time to wander before gathering for a rooftop welcome dinner overlooking the city's skyline. Welcome dinner included. Overnight in Marrakech.

Day 2

Marrakech | Gardens, Flavors & Moroccan Traditions

Begin the day with a guided exploration of the historic medina, discovering hidden courtyards, bustling markets, and artisan workshops. After lunch, visit the stunning Jardin Majorelle, one of Morocco's most iconic gardens, famous for its vibrant blue architecture and peaceful botanical collection. This evening, roll up your sleeves for an authentic Moroccan cooking class and enjoy the meal you've created together. Breakfast, dinner, and cooking class included. Overnight in Marrakech.

Day 3

Ourika Valley | Waterfalls & Mountain Villages

Escape the city for a full-day adventure into the breathtaking Ourika Valley, nestled within the High Atlas Mountains. Travel through traditional Amazigh villages, lush river valleys, and dramatic mountain scenery before reaching the beautiful waterfalls that make this region one of Morocco's favorite natural escapes. Enjoy time to hike, relax, and soak in the peaceful surroundings before returning to Marrakech. Breakfast included. Overnight in Marrakech.

Day 4

Marrakech to Boumalne Dades | Ancient Landscapes & Desert Gateways

Journey deep into southern Morocco. Visit a local women's argan oil cooperative, then continue into the High Atlas Mountains for spectacular panoramic views. Meet local artisans during an Indigenous carpet weaving demonstration and enjoy lunch with a family preserving generations of traditional textile craftsmanship. Continue through the fragrant Valley of Roses near Kelaat M'Gouna and explore the Al Foaud Fossil Museum before arriving in the dramatic Dades Valley. Breakfast + lunch included. Overnight in Boumalne Dades.

Day 5

Boumalne Dades to Merzouga | Into the Sahara

The landscapes become even more extraordinary as we journey toward the golden dunes of the Sahara Desert. In Merzouga, trade four wheels for four legs as camels carry us across rolling sand dunes toward our luxury desert camp. As the sun sets, settle in for an unforgettable evening beneath one of the clearest night skies in the world, with traditional Moroccan hospitality and music around the fire. Breakfast + dinner included. Overnight in a luxury Sahara desert camp.

Day 6

Sahara Desert | Nomadic Traditions & Birthday in the Dunes

Experience the Sahara beyond its scenery with a day of meaningful cultural connection. Travel by 4x4 across the dunes to share traditional tea with a local nomadic family, discover the region's historic kohl mining traditions, and visit a nearby village for lunch and opportunities to support the local school and community initiatives. As evening falls, we'll celebrate Jodi's birthday surrounded by the magic of the Sahara. All meals included. Overnight in a luxury Sahara desert camp.

Day 7

Merzouga to Zagora | Across Morocco's Desert Frontier

Leave the towering dunes behind as we continue west through Morocco's ever-changing desert landscapes toward Zagora. Along the journey, enjoy a scenic picnic lunch while taking in sweeping views of rocky plateaus, palm groves, and ancient caravan routes that once connected North Africa to Timbuktu. Breakfast + picnic lunch included. Overnight in Zagora.

Day 8

Zagora to Agdz | Hidden Oases & Desert Beauty

Journey through the beautiful Draa Valley, stopping to explore the peaceful Fint Oasis, a lush hidden paradise surrounded by dramatic desert cliffs and traditional villages. Continue to Agdz, a charming oasis town known for its palm groves and kasbahs, and spend a relaxing evening soaking in the slower pace of southern Morocco. Breakfast included. Overnight in Agdz.

Day 9

Agdz to Marrakech | A Scenic Journey Back

After breakfast, begin the scenic drive back to Marrakech, retracing the spectacular landscapes of southern Morocco through mountain passes, valleys, and desert vistas. On arrival, enjoy free time for final shopping, café hopping, or simply relaxing before the journey home. Breakfast included. Overnight in Marrakech.

Day 10

Departure Day | Until Next Time

Enjoy one final Moroccan breakfast before transferring to the airport for your flight home. You'll return with meaningful connections, unforgettable experiences, and memories of Morocco's incredible landscapes, generous people, and enduring spirit. Breakfast and airport transfers included.

What is the cost?

The total cost is $2,125.00 with a $300 deposit to book. This includes accommodations, ground transportation, daily breakfast, some meals, and all included group activities. It excludes airfare from the US, some lunches and dinners, optional activities, and tips for guides.

Should I bring money for tips?

Yes! It is always recommended to tip tour guides and others for outstanding service in any place you visit.

What documents are needed for travel?

You will need a valid US passport with at least one blank page.

What are the accommodations like?

We do our best to stay in locally owned places, including a traditional riad in Marrakech, desert lodgings in Boumalne Dades, Zagora, and Agdz, and two unforgettable nights in a luxury Sahara desert camp in Merzouga. Everyone will have their own bed at each location. It is typically 2-3 people in a room.

What if I don't want to do an activity?

You always have the option to hang back at the accommodations if you choose not to participate in an activity. No refunds are issued if you opt out of one of the included activities.

What if I have an emergency while on the trip?

We will immediately notify your listed emergency contact and help secure medical treatment for you if required. It is very important to carry trip insurance that covers medical situations.

What is the weather like?

March is one of the best times to visit southern Morocco. Marrakech typically sees sunny days in the 70s, while the Sahara brings warm days and chilly desert nights — pack layers for the evenings at camp.
