Trip Details
We experienced everything the nature and people of Panama had to offer, while also opening our hearts and minds to the very real challenges faced by the charity organizations as they work to address disparities in their local areas. A highlight of our service work was delivering school supplies directly to the Guna Yala and Emberá indigenous villages — a small act that meant a great deal to the children and families we met.
Nestled within the pristine landscapes of the San Blas Islands, the Guna Yala people thrive with their rich cultural heritage, exemplified by intricate handicrafts, traditional music, and a profound connection to the natural world that surrounds them. We were honored to bring school supplies to their villages and spend time with the community.
Our journey deep into the Panamanian jungle led us to discover the remarkable world of the Emberá people. As we immersed ourselves in the dense wilderness, we delivered school supplies to village children and felt the community's profound connection to their environment. Witnessing their intricate craftsmanship, spiritual rituals, and unwavering commitment to their cultural heritage left an indelible mark on us.
Immersing ourselves in Panama's rich cultural tapestry involves embracing vibrant traditions, from the rhythmic beats of traditional folk music to the colorful festivities of Carnaval, all amidst the backdrop of its lush tropical landscapes, like the San Blas Islands.
